Susan and I finally were able to ride our bikes yesterday. I must tell you I was like a kid on Christmas and couldn’t wait to get up and ride.
Both of us agree the bikes are absolutely FANTASTIC, MARVELOUS, and INCREDIBLE. You did the PERFECT job analyzing our needs and fitting the bikes to us. They are a dream to ride, quiet, no road vibration, comfortable, smooth shifting, and the wheel sets are sweet!
Needless to say we are thrilled and LOVE OUR BIKES, Susan said to past on that while her other road bike is outstanding thanks to your fitting and your efforts THIS IS THE BEST BIKE SHE HAS EVER OWNED!Ken Forrest & Susan Bostick |
The collaboration with you was quite a bike riding enhancing experience.
Your appreciation of my love of riding and your support for getting the perfect ride together was a greatand fun experience. Your patience with my exuberance was also appreciated.Rick Polster, Social Worker |
After struggling with a bike that was too big for me that the guys at another shop sold me, I went to the Cycologist. Shawn first took all my measurements and asked me insightful questions about what I wanted to do with a bike, etc. and came up with the exact measurements for the perfect bike for me. Then, after looking at many bikes, I came back to Shawn to build a custom bike. Together we selected each component to best fit my needs and wants and I’ve ended up with a dream bike. I put 50 miles on it my first time out, and I was grinning the whole time. Shawn kept me informed throughout the whole ordering and building process, even calling me to “listen” to my bike’s wheel’s spinning (sweet silence!) when it was ready! I can’t recommend The Cycologist highly enough. The Cycologist is it for me! Diane Stober, PhD |
I’ve had my Titus Switchblade for only a week now, and I can’t express enough how awesome it is. This bike is everything I expected and more, and as my wife says, it has that “coolness factor” about it. However, even more important than the bike itself is who sold it to me. Simply put, “The Cycologist” is why I bought a Titus. Let’s face it – there are a lot of bikes out there to consider. The experience I had with Shawn was everything I ever wanted when it came to buying my new dream bike. The Cycologist is everything a “bike shop” should be and Shawn definitely understands that.Ryan Eisenbraun, Attorney |
There is nothing like an exact fit and the feeling of knowing it is right. This new bike gives me the feeling of that special one of a kind. In the responsiveness of the bike and ride I feel the freedom that I love on a bike. When I get on it, just riding normal streets gives me the feeling of riding for the first time. I feel that excitement and knowledge that I have so many things to discover about how and where this bike will take me. It is like being at the very beginning of an exciting adventure and knowing I have the very best tools to take me there. The responsiveness and smoothness is unmatched in any bike I have ever ridden and I will treasure it for many years to come. The difference feels like I have been riding a Volkswagen and I graduated to Rolls Royce. My experience with Shawn and Jennifer at the Cycologist has been phenomenal. They follow through with the kind of customer service that we all wish we would experience but very rarely do. I highly recommend the Cycologist for any bike needs whether they are for a custom bicycle or any other services they provide. Elaine denHoed, Larimer County Network & Systems Administrator |
| I want to thank The Cycologist for the most incredible bicycle purchase experience of my life. Your attention to detail from the initial fitting to the final build made it a pleasure to be your customer. You have set the bar extraordinarily high and I will forever be a staunch advocate of The Cycologist. Rob Noble, Business Development Manager |
Just a quick note on how pleased I am with my new Salsa Campeon. I've got about 150-200 miles on it, and I am impressed with the fit and ride. I didn't expect the ride "feel" to be that much improved over my old Ti bike, but it is different, and for the better.
I've never ridden a Scandium frame with the carbon seat stays, so I wasn't fully sure to notice a big improvement, but I'm happy to say its great.
Fast, sweeping downhills feel much more stable. My climbing has improved, too.
The vastly improved fit allows me to pace out in the flats while in the drops for much longer periods, with a significant improvement in spinning efficiency - something I could not maintain on my old bike. My lower back discomfort has disappeared - huge dividend!
Thanks again for the great work.
I love my new ride!Bill Rauch |
I just wanted to say thank you for helping me to get a really sweet bike, and a great fit. When I came into your shop, I must say that I really didn’t know what to expect. I’ve been riding bikes for a long time and figured I already new everything I needed to know about bikes. But based on the recommendation of others, I decided to see what you had to offer before I spent big bucks on an off the shelf mountain bike.
I learned that my current bike really did not fit me that well and that this was partly the reason for it's tendency to endo. I also learned that Titus really makes a great bike. It is definitely more efficient and higher quality than my old Trek Fuel. Disk brakes and 4 inches of suspension are really nice too.
Once you decide on a semi-custom bike, it's amazing all the choices you need to make (wheels, brakes, shock, shifters, etc). It was really nice to have your guidance in picking out a set of components that could fit within my cost goals and meet my performance expectations as well. Building the bike together was a really great way to learn about all the components on the bike and how to install/maintain them properly. The end result was awesome. I just got back from a three day trip to Moab and Fruita and really enjoyed my new ride. It took a little while to get used to the new position on the bike, but at the end of the rides my back and shoulders felt a lot better.
Thanks again for a great buying experience and a great bike.Jon Lotz |
| I love my new bike - no problems throughout the 405 miles of Ride the Rockies! Thanks for finding a bike that fits me so well. The Salsa got lots of attention! Jane Utiger |

| Went for a 3 hours ride on the Lemond yesterday. Absolutely no back, neck or shoulder pain. I'm a bit sore, but its the first "long" ride for me this season. The bike feels much more comfortable and I feel like I have greater control over it. I think I'll be in to get those shims on my other set of road shoes. Thanks for everything. Steve Smith, Systems Engineer |
Steve and I got out for 3 hours/45 miles this morning and I’ve never felt better at that time and distance. The adjustments you made on the Litespeed did the trick. No soreness in my back at all or anywhere else for that matter. If I had one more gel and bar with me, we probably could have ridden another 10 miles today. In the past, I have been pretty whipped, especially my low back, after those rides. Today I feel good enough to actually get some other things done this afternoon.
I Can’t imagine what my new Titus Exogrid is going to feel like.Stephanie Smith, Registered Dietician |
| After many years, I had resigned myself to the fact my knees were going to hurt every time I rode my bike. After my fitting with The Cycologist, my knee pain on the bike has been completely eliminated. Dr. Sean Grey, Orthopedic Surgeon |
I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how pleased I am with my fitting adjustments. After I left your shop yesterday I went for a ride around Lory and Horsetooth. Four hours later I felt great. I had absolutely no shoulder pain. The bike ran better than it ever has. Thanks! Your "therapy" was brilliant. I can hardly wait for the new custom bike.Rob Ganger |
| My mountain bike fit was awesome! I can actually get my front tire up now; and I got 3rd place in my group last weekend at the Blast the Mass XC race in Snowmass! WHOOHOO. (OK, it was out of 4 riders, but STILL!!!) Kristine Elliot, Client Services Director |
Thanks so much for your professional service and fitting in June. I just finished the Courage Classic, riding 182 miles in Lake and Summit counties in 3 days. I cannot remember being so comfortable on my old Peugeot PX in years!! The small, yet significant changes that you made in my equipment and position eliminated all of my lower back discomfort. Pain, that I thought I just had to tolerate as I have gotten older, disappeared!
The day I picked up my bike and went for the short test ride, I noticed an immediate benefit from your work. Honestly, I had a few doubts, but was much impressed with your advice and the results.
During the Courage Classic, I talked with many other cyclists with much newer equipment, and often they complained about the service they had received from acclaimed shops in the Denver metro area.
We are fortunate to have The Cycologist in Fort Collins. You provide a very important service, and I am thankful for it.
Sarah L. Brooks, Teacher with Poudre School District |
| It made all the difference in the world. It changed my perception of cycling. It took away all the pain and made it a very enjoyable sport… [It] brought back all the fun! Eve Ann Felker, Ultrasound Technician at Fort Coll |
I’ve ridden hard several times on my bike since the fit and I feel faster. I’m using more muscle groups and new parts of my body are tired. My gluteus and arms are being used more. I rode to the top of Rist Canyon the other day and cut my time by 1/3, all while staying at a lower heart rate.

I had Shawn do a fitting for me several years ago, and could not believe the difference before and after. I could ride farther, climb better, and ride with more comfort and less fatigue. I can't imaging riding without the services that Shawn provides during his fitting session. I feel like a friend of the family, not just another customer, and I would highly recommend The Cycologist.Victor Glaze, Saturn of Fort Collins |

| I was very skeptical of putting disk brakes on my new Titus, thinking the cost, maintenance, and weight would nullify any performance advantage over my old v-brakes. Wow, I was so wrong! My Avid disc brakes are surprisingly easy to maintain and the one-finger braking they allow gives me all the stopping power I need. I'll never go back to rim brakes. I've become a better climber and am able to clear more technical sections of the trail than I have before.

The Cycologist has a real commitment to raising the enjoyment level for people at all skill levels. He’s taught me how to be a better rider and how to enjoy the sport a lot more.
Ray Pigg, VP of Neenan Company |
As a beginning cyclist, I found the Beginner's Mountain Bike Clinic to be very helpful in teaching me both basic riding skills and techniques related to clearing obstacles. Shawn presented the techniques clearly, with plenty of repetition, demonstrations, and time to practice and ask questions. The class size was small enough that we all got individual attention and could learn from each others' mistakes. It was also a really fun morning that left me feeling more confident in my riding and eager to get back out on the trails. Lori Bricker, Fort Collins latest Mountain Biker |

I'd been riding well on my new bike but just didn't have things setup quite right. After spending a morning with Shawn on my setup and training regimen, I immediately noticed the difference. My riding has improved greatly as has my level of comfort.Sean Shallbetter, Hewlett Packard Research & Development |

| In 1999, Shawn built a set of wheels for my Titus Racer-X. Four years later, they have been through three race seasons, and countless 'epic rides,' and have not even been touched because they haven't needed it. Although I am reasonably light (125 lbs.) and don't abuse my equipment, I ride in the rough terrain of Arizona, terrain that can eat up inferior wheels. The wheels built by Shawn have given me over four years of trouble-free riding; I concentrate on enjoying my ride and building my skills, not whether something is going to break. It was definitely worth the investment in these wheels to enjoy trouble-free riding for such a long time. Jodi Smee, 6th Grade Teacher |

So I'm 4 weeks from the "Big Trip" to Sedona and Pheonix when I rack my rear wheel on Hall Ranch. Called Shawn, who had sold me my favorite toy ('04 Switchblade) and he ordered me up a new one. According to DT/Swiss, getting the new wheel before my trip was "no problem".
The week before I'm set to leave, Shawn calls DT/Swiss and finds out that my new wheel is not going to make it. Without a word from me, Shawn immediately packages up a demo wheel that he has and ships it down to me in Boulder. ( He even sent me a guidebook from his old stomping grounds in AZ!!!)
What great service!! Doing everything he could to keep me riding was much appreciated and we ended up having the time of our lives on National Trail and others in AZ!Bob Lichens, Software Developer |
| Having a bike saddle that is comfortable can make or break a long ride. Unfortunately, saddles aren't something you can "try on" in the store and know if they are going to work for you. The Cycologist let me try out a couple out on rides so I could find out which would work best for me. Thanks Shawn! Roslyn Stern, Engineer |
