A Bicycling Renaissance is Happening in Fort Collins Right Now!

Our city's bicycling organization, managed by Dave Kemp, inspires safe bicycling as an alternative form of transportation in Fort Collins, as well as promotes bicycling as a way of life. Details of their activities and programs can be found at http://www.fcgov.com/bicycling.

Some of the many reasons that make Fort Collins a Bicycling Mecca are listed below:

  • Bike Month, taking place every year in June.
  • Bike-To-Work-Day: Support a great cause and have a great reason to own one of the best commuter bicycles on the road!
  • Coexist: Motorist and bicyclist education is an important aspect in creating a bicycle friendly community. The "Coexist" Campaign was designed to address six of the most important educational messages for bicyclists and motorists.
  • Bicycle Library: The Fort Collins Bike Library is a free service for residents, students, and visitors to Fort Collins. Members can borrow the bike for as short as an hour or for as long as one week. There are two locations of the Bike Library: one station is located in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins at the Café Bicyclette (970.419.1050) and the other is located at the RamWheels station in the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University.   • Bicycle Co-op: The Fort Collins Bicycle Co-op is your community bike shop. They strive to keep good bikes out of the landfill, to keep our community riding, and to educate our neighbors in all things bike related. Their corps of volunteers keep the bikes in the Fort Collins Bike Library running.
